About my work:
Over the period of last five years , I have deviated from the abstract geometric compositions to a more realistic style of painting.My current series of paintings -all acrylic on canvas –are based on the facial expressions and mudras of Indian classical dance especially Kathakali . The vibrant green colour of a Kathakali Dancer`s face and the brightness of his eyes fascinate me . I am also attracted to the beautiful expressions of Odissi dance .
I would like to portray folk dance in future . My aim is to capture the essence and colours of India through these compositions.
